I was recently interviewed by the Business Outreach Center, Women’s Business Center
1. What was the inspiration behind your business?
I’ve been a freelance photographer for many years, but the idea for me to focus my business on branding services has been inspired by the growing amount of entrepreneurs, and their need for authentic images to help them connect with their audiences through social media. I’ve always enjoyed photographing ‘regular’ people, more so than models or actors; and I love meeting people from different walks of life and helping them to visually tell their stories.
2. What makes your business meaningful to you?
I’ve been photographing people and telling stories through images since I was a kid, and I’m grateful to have the opportunity to create a business where I can use my talents and skills to help entrepreneurs and small business owners take their brand to the next level. It’s especially meaningful to me when I get to create images for purpose-driven businesses that have a positive impact on others.
3. Did you ever have an “ah-ha” moment where you knew exactly what to do to create your business?
Since having a baby last year, needless to say, my time is much more limited and I’ve had to become laser focused on how I want to spend it when I’m working. I realized that it’s incredibly important to me to shape my business in a way that reflects my values.
4. How did you find out about BOC WBC?
I was a part of an independently formed business accountability group that met through video chats once per week, and one of the other members mentioned an upcoming workshop about juggling motherhood and business. I ended up going and was incredibly appreciative that when I asked ahead of time, I was encouraged to bring my then six - month old baby along with me.
5. What has been your most satisfying moment as an entrepreneur?
Most recently, my most satisfying moment as an entrepreneur was when I received a note from a client saying: “Wow! Thank you so much, you have really made my vision a reality! All those photos are exactly what I needed!”
